Shane’s life is explained perfectly by his band name LLessur of 2. He has done everything backwards the majority of his life. His favorite number is 2 and ironically competes against his alter ego each and every day. A family man who tries to be the best husband and father he can be, yet pursuing a selfish lifelong goal of playing music for a living in front of thousands of fans who accept him for exactly who he is, “Unique and Incomplete”.
Shane first picked up a guitar in college and new immediately that someday that he would “move butts” one day with his rhythmic funky strumming and the love soul and sincerity that expels from his lungs! “I’ve tried to escape the stronghold the music has on me, especially the songwriting process for many years, but fortunately it has bubbled to the surface again and I’m ready to accommodate”.
Shadowboxx was the first band Shane was in that came into existence in 2002. “I couldn’t even play the guitar and sing at the same time. My bandmates had a ton of patience with me because they were seasoned musicians who had been playing for many more years than me.” Shadowboxx resided in New Orleans and ended its time together in Athens, Ga. In 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit. “That girl literally and figuratively broke our backs. We were starting to get some traction in Athens because we were playing 3 to 4 nights a week for free LOL!” Shadowboxx toured the country playing hundreds of shows with some pretty good bands. “We did have a song called “Dangerous” that got played several times a day on a local radio in Athens that we were very excited about, but I don’t think it was in the stars for us to be relevant at that particular time.”
LLessur of 2 plans to tell the truth of his life in words that resonates with those who seek truth. Why are we here? How can we make the best of it in our small time here? Am I the only one feeling this way? These questions scream at the top of all his songs. “I hope to move someone from the mundane life into a life of prosperity and abundance. Live life with a true identity. The life that is true to us and not someone else that may have told us about it. Go get what you want, and while you pursue that thing you want give a hug every now and then! Success is relative but it should never stop progressing.”
